The book ('From Ald to Goldenhorn. Slovenian Mythological Creatures') presents a review of Slovene mythology and an owerview ower historical and narrative material with relevant studies. Presented are over 150 mythological beings, both lexically and according to the role that they have in Slovene folklore. They are classified by type, characteristic features, and by the message conveyed in their motifs and content. Because the text of folk narratives is the primary source of mythological research, some stories have been included in the book; these have been analyzed according to their text, context, morphological features, and semiotic characteristics. Since the material has been analyzed in the context of European and some non-European mythological concepts, it can be used comparatively. Even though the book discusses an extremely extensive and diverse subject, the author also deals with theory and interpretations as well as conclusions of domestic and foreign authors. The book forms new starting-points and classification of mythology and mythological beings. Supernatural beings have been placed within a mythological frame of reference that has been used in a number of sources and publications.
